You buy a hand fan from a street vendor. On the note hanging from it you read:

Follow the rainbow until you see a fork in the hand of a purple-striped gnome.
Greet him, then follow the bloody red stains on the road.
You will reach butcher Pete and have your right arm hatched off.
Greet butcher Pete.
Should you survive, you will then see that the bloody red stains are your own, small drops dripping away and adding to the already growing puddles.
Now clean them up!
