I like "Reflections". It's the kind of thing I could stare at for hours without getting bored. And kudos for the first pic. You've made it look very old-fashioned and classy in the same time. :)
Thanks. Trial & error rules. In this case substitute "error" with imperfect. Regarding the first picture: it's the original, desaturated [turned to grayscale], with the brightness and contrast increased to fade out all the small details and bring out all the bright/dark areas. The tricky thing is to try and imagine how the final image would look like, because rarely you take a photograph that's perfect [which would not look better after post processing].
